Curtistene Jackson

Funeral service for Curtistene Allen Jackson, 77 of Dermott, Arkansas will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026. Service will be held at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 1109 North School Street, Dermott, AR; Rev. Michael Wolfe, Pastor; Rev. Samuel Fells and Rev. Arthur Hanie, Officiating.

Curtistene was a longtime resident of Baxter and Dermott. She was born in Baxter, Arkansas in 1948 to the parents of Herman and Willie Mae Allen. She attended school in the Dermott School District, graduating from Chicot County High School with the class of 1967. She furthered her education at Philander Smith College, Little Rock, graduating with a B.A. Degree in Social Work.

Her career started in Lake Village, then McGehee, Hamburg and surrounding areas. Curtistene was also active with the Single Parent Scholarship Organization.

Her church affiliation was with Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Baxter under the leadership of the late Rev. Tommy Hudspeth. Curtistene's favorite pasttime was shopping in the mall.

Mrs. Jackson transitioned from this life on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Desha County Hospital, McGehee. She leaves to cherished her memories one son, William Jackson and Grandson, Allen Jackson of Dermott; one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Jackson of Little Rock; three sisters, Maxine Evans of Baxter, Clemetene McDuffee and Olinda Allen of Little Rock; two brothers, Luther Allen and Larry Gene Allen of Baxter.

Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2026. at Dillard Funeral Home, 111 North Freeman Street. Burial will take place at Little Zion Cemetery, Baxter. Services entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home, 111 North Freeman Street, Dermott, 870-538-5505
