Eliza Lawson March 10, 1949 - October 9, 2025

With heavy and fond memories, we celebrate the life of Eliza Lawson, lovingly known as "Dimples," whose very presence lit up the world around her. Eliza peacefully departed this life on October 9, 2025, in her cherished hometown of Dermott, Arkansas, at the age of 76. Born on March 10, 1949, to Lou Essie McClendon and the late Lee Edward Green, Eliza gracefully navigated life as the eldest among 16 siblings, each of whom she embraced with unwavering love.

Her journey began in Dermott, where her spirited childhood laid the foundation for the strong, compassionate woman she would grow to be. Eliza's adventure continued as she moved to Kansas City, Kansas, pouring her heart into raising her children with warmth and resilience. These passions followed her to Miami, Florida, where she thrived in a vibrant community, nurturing her growing family with the same dedication she held dear. Ultimately, Eliza returned to the beloved confines of her childhood home in Dermott, surrounded by the love that had always comforted her.

Eliza was the heartbeat of every gathering, infusing joy and laughter into the lives she touched. Her culinary skills delighted many, as she created comforting meals filled with love. A passionate singer, she could move hearts with her soulful melodies, and her quiet moments spent fishing by serene waters were testament to her deep connection with nature. Blues music resonated within her soul, with the timeless notes of Albert King's "I'll Play the Blues for You" echoing her spirit. In every kitchen, beside every lake, and in the embraces of those she adored, Eliza's exuberance became an indelible mark on the hearts she graced.

She is preceded in death by her devoted father, Lee Edward Green, and several of her cherished siblings: Detris McClendon, Freddie Earl Boyd, Adam Boyd, Theauthor McClendon, Timothy McClendon, Leon Green, and Edward Green.

Eliza Lawson leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, cherished memories, and an enduring spirit. She is survived by her beloved mother, Lou Essie McClendon; three devoted daughters, Dalphina Green, Theresa Davis, and Rosalin Chandler; a cherished son, Johnny Davis Jr.; along with 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The love of Eliza also extends to her beloved sisters-Rozena Thomas, Rosie Perkins, Kay Francis Cade, Latosha Love, Naomi Cornell, Ester Lykes, Ibelia Nelson, and Bertha Green-as well as her brothers, Ollie Boyd, Otis McClendon, Rickie (Everlene) McClendon, Loyce Love, Charles (Vickie) Green, and Roy (Helen) Green, and many other relatives and friends, all of whom will forever hold her dear in their hearts.

The family expresses deep gratitude to Baptist Health and Bessie Wilkinson for their compassionate care and unwavering support during this time.

Though Eliza's beautiful smile will be deeply missed, her loving heart and vibrant spirit will remain forever etched in our memories. Her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to illuminate the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
