LEE EDWARD SIMPSON

Funeral Service for Lee Edward Simpson, 49, of Arlington, TX and formerly of Dermott, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026. Service will be held at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, East Iowa Street, Dermott.

Lee was born on November 12, 1976 to Charles and Rose Lee Wimberly in Dermott, Arkansas. At an early age, he became a member of Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He attended school in Dermott and completed high school by earning his GED. After leaving Dermott, Lee Edward lived in Little Rock and worked for a landscaping company; later he moved to Arlington, Texas where he made his permanent residence. He enjoyed basketball, video games and fishing.

Lee Edward transitioned on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at his home in Arlington, Texas. He is survived by three children, Valencia Simpson of Eudora, AR, Jeyden Simpson of Lake Village, AR, and Elliana Carrillio of Amarillo, TX and two grandchildren; his parents, Charles Simpson of Dermott, AR and Rose Lee Sims of Arlington, TX; four siblings, Katherine Perry (Aaron) of Arlington, TX, Shelia Addie (Gbenga) of Arlington, TX, Kizzie Otanya (Olusegun) of Arlington, TX, and Willie Jackson of Arlington, TX;

Visitation will be held on February 28, 2026 from 12:00 to 12:45 at Saint Paul Baptist Church East Iowa Street, Dermott.

Burial will take place at Davis Cemetery, Dermott; services entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home, 111 North Freeman Street, Dermott.
