LISA F. HUMPHREY

Memorial Services for Lisa F. Humphrey, of Texas and formerly of Dermott, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025. Service will be held at Holland Chapel AME Church, West Iowa Street, Dermott; Rev. Gwain Hammitt, Officiating Minister.
Lisa F. Humphrey was born on March 4, 1963 to the late Leroy West and Margaret Stanford. At an early age, she dedicated her life to Christ at Holland Chapel AME Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher.
A proud graduate of Dermott High School, Lisa was active in cheerleading and FBLA. She later earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Lisa followed in her mother's footsteps to become a devoted first grade teacher in the Dumas School District, Dumas, Arkansas. She spent 27 years inspiring young minds with her compassion, patience, and unwavering belief in each student's potential. Lisa was not only an educator, but also a friend, a mentor, and a role model to all who crossed her path She also had the honor of sponsoring the Dumas Bobcat Dance Team. Retiring in 2016, Lisa left behind a lasting legacy of educational excellence and personal impact on countless students.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Whitney West (Christopher Knox) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Bethany Jones (Billy Jones) of LeAnder, Texas, and Brittaney Humphrey of Arkansas; granddaughters, Raegan and Kennedy Jones of LeAnder, Texas; her aunt, Rebecca Cook (the late Nathan Cook) of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of family, friends, and former students whose lives she touched. Lisa's legacy of kindness, service, and dedication will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew her.
