Funeral Services for Mrs. Mammie Lee Brown, 87, of Dermott, AR will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025. Bethel Temple Pentecostal Church 142 Ashley 733, Jerome, AR 71638, Bishop Alfonso Madden, Officiating.
Mammie was born on March 31, 1937 to Emmitt McCoy and Minnie Bell McCoy in Boydell, Arkansas. She married Marvin Brown on July 5, 1954, in Monticello, Arkansas. They resided in Jerome for several years. While living there she attended the community churches in that area. Years later, she moved to Dermott and became a member of Bethel Temple Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Bishop Alfonso Madden and she was a Mother of the Church.
Mrs. Brown enjoyed crossword puzzles, gospel singing, and traveling. She did extensive traveling to several states visiting her children and other relatives and friends. She also worked for seven years as a Foster Grandparent in the Dermott Elementary School (Dermott School District).
Mrs. Brown passed away at her home December 30, 2024. She is survived by nine children, Shirley Danzey (James) of Dermott, AR, Olivia Brown of Dermott, AR, Minnie Allen (Charles) of Dermott, AR, Arnetia Dean (Ivory) of Alexandria, AR, Tina Shelton (Michael) of Mablevale, AR, Charles Brown (Michelle) of Yuma,, AZ, Dorothy Malone of San Leandro,, CA, Mammie Lee Brown of Oakland, CA, and Marvin Brown Jr. (Kheshia) of Patterson, CA; twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren, eighteen great-great grandchildren.
Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Boydell.
Services entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home, 111 North Freeman Street, Dermott, AR 71638.
