Michael Carter Sr.

Memorial Services for Michael Carter Sr., 57, of Dermott, AR will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025. Services will be held at Antioch Baptist Church, North Alma Street, Dermott; Rev. Willie Freeman, Pastor; Elder Hampton Shaw, Officiating Minister.

Mr. Carter attended Dermott High School and graduated with the class of 1985. After graduation he lived and worked in various places out of state. Before retiring, he worked as Machine Operator for Firestone in Jacksonville, Florida and he also worked as a Chef; but made a decision to return home to Dermott, his hometown. He was lover of fishing and enjoyed carpentry work.

Michael passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at his home. He leaves to cherished his memories two daughters, Andrai Carter and Shania Carter of Jacksonville, FL; two sons, D'Andre Jordan of Oregon, and Malik Carter of Jacksonville, FL; four sisters, Mary Shaw of Dermott, Dorothy Johnson (Dave) of Kansas City, KS, Pinkie Carter of Kileen, TX, and Rose Beckett of Abbyville, LA; four brothers, Roy Carter of Dermott, Elvin James(Janet) of Haynesville, FL, Larry Carter(Karita) of Kansas City, KS, and Milton Carter of Souix City, Iowa; Fifteen Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son, Michael Carter, Jr. and two brothers, Charles Carter and Tim Carter.
