Michael Antoine Goodwin

Funeral Service for Michael Antoine Goodwin, 50, of Dermott, AR will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2026. Service will be held at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 1109 North School Street, Dermott; Rev. Michael Wolfe, Officiating Minister.

Michael was born on Tuesday, January 20, 1976, to Leon and Thelma Broom in Dermott, Arkansas. He accepted Christ at an early age at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. York W. Williams, Jr.

Michael attended Carter Elementary School in Chicago, Il from K-3rd grade. After the family relocated to Dermott, AR, he completed grades 4-12.

He was a member of the Dermott High School Rams basketball team when the team was successful in achieving the 3-A State Championship in 1994.

After graduating from Dermott High School in 1994, he continued his education by receiving an Associate of Applied Science degree in Renewable Energy from Mid-South Community College in West Memphis, AR and a BAS degree in Renewable Energy. Michael had a love for museums and art history and enjoyed coaching children in sports.

Michael was met at Heaven's Gates by his grandparents, Walter, Sr. and Bonnie Jordan, Willie and Inez Spencer, A. D. and Ruth Broom; aunts Bernadette Jordan and Dyann Hawkins. His legacy and memories will be kept alive by his mother, Thelma Broom; he was blessed to have two fathers, Earnest Broom (Anna) and Leon Spencer; three sons, Zadrian Goodwin of Little Rock, AR, Jaden Goodwin(LaTecia) of West Memphis, AR and Aundra Hawkins (Jacqueline); one daughter, Zakoyah Hawkins; one brother, Clifton Jordan (Brenae); three sisters, Ernice Spencer (Randell), Monica Morgan (Makeiko), and Kamilah Spencer; seven grandchildren, Amorah, Justice, Athens, Journee, Ze-Toriah, Emerson and Reign.

Visitation will be held from 4 - 6 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Dillard Funeral Home, 111 North Freeman Street, Dermott, AR. Viewing will also be held at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2026.

Burial will take place at Davis Cemetery, Dermott. Services entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home, 111 North Freeman Street, Dermott.
