The Rev. James David Crockett, 62, of Dermott passed Wednesday, June 17, 2015. His book of life opened January 31, 1953, the oldest of twenty-three siblings born to the Late John David and Shirley Ann Crockett. Reverend Crockett was the pastor of First Baptist Church of Wilmot where he had faithfully served for 23 years. He was retired from Riceland Foods and he currently worked as a District Manager for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. His greatest social expertise was grilling for family and friends., which he briefly turned into a restaurant business. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings. Many fun and loving memories are cherished by his wife of ten years, Johnettee Wesley Crockett of Dermott; sons Derrick of Pine Bluff and Tarran of Little Rock; eight brothers, Lawrence (Tina) of New York City, NY; Charles (Leola) of Pine Bluff; Howard and Steven of Dermott; Melvin (Yvette) of Pine Bluff; Keith (Junetter) of Pine Bluff; Kelvin (Angela) of Madison, MS and Byron (Dessadra) of Arlington, TX. Five sisters, Eola Melancan, Iola Crockett, Brenda Johnson and LaCreasia (James) Fifer of Fresno, CA and Judy Crockett of Little Rock; one grandchild, a godson and many other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 25, at First Baptist Church, 428 Church St, Wilmot, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in Big Mt.
