REVEREND EUGENE WALTER MITCHELL

Funeral Services for Rev.Eugene Walter Mitchell, 78, of Eudora, AR will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022. Service will be held at Jericho Baptist Church North Front Street, Eudora; Rev. Albert Jones, Sr., officiating.
Pastor Eugene Walter Mitchell departed from this life and into the arms of the Lord Friday, January 28, 2022 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village, Arkansas.
Pastor Mitchell was born on August 11, 1943 on Beth River in Eudora, Arkansas to Thomas Mitchell and Irene Wells Logan who preceded him in death. He confessed at an early age but found his calling and dedicated his life to the Lord during the early 70's under the direction of the late Rev. Dyson of Chicago, IL. After returning to Arkansas he pastored St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church in Montrose, AR, New Light Baptist Church in Portland, AR and First Baptist Church of Eudora, AR. His final years were fully dedicated to the Bible Speaking Church in Eudora.
Pastor Mitchell or Mr. Eugene, as he was lovingly called, was also dedicated to the school system, driving school buses and grounds keeping. He enjoyed working and working with people and loved to mentor and give encouragement.
He, Pastor Mitchell, leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his loving wife of 41 years, Mother Virginia Mitchell of Eudora, AR and five adoring children, which are two daughters, Regina R.Versey of Pine Bluff, AR, Eugenia Elizabeth Mitchell of Texarkana, TX; three sons, Michael Collins Sr. of Las Vegas, NV, Ray Tisinger (Stephaine) of Kansas City, MO, and Walter Eugene Mitchell Jr. (Leona) of Kansas City, MO; three surviving sibling of 11, William Brown, Bessie Edwards, and Mattie Thompson. Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, neices and nephews, a host of family, adopted family, adopted children and friends that he loved and they loved him dearly.
Burial will take place in Hill Cemetery, Highway 159, South, Eudora. Service entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home, 137 Front Street, Eudora.
