Funeral Service for William Doyle Wimberly, 66, of Dermott, AR will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2023. Service will be held at Calvary Number One Missionary Baptist Church; Rev. Ralph Carbage, officiating.
William was born on April 18, 1956 to Anderson and Caretha Wimberly in Jerome, Arkansas. He attended school in the Dermott School District, graduating with the class of 1975. During his early childhood, he attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and later Calvary Number One Missionary Baptist Church. He entered the United States Army in December of 1975 and served until January of 1998; serving his country for 23 years before retiring. His army career was in the position of Army Record Telecommunication Operator.
After returning home to Dermott, he developed an interest in fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also continued his love of working with computers as he did while serving in the army.
Mr. Wimberly passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans' Hospital, Little Rock. He is survived by six siblings; five sisters, Almeda Giles (Lorenzo) of Little Rock, AR, Juanita Wimberly of Dermott, AR, Rozena Wimberly of Little Rock, AR, Julia Wimberly-Harden of Dermott, AR, Bella Wimberly of Dermott, AR, and one brother, Wilbert Wimberly of Little Rock, AR. Endeared also to William's heart were Marcus Jr., Markeval, Ke'Mariy and Ke'Hariy. Brandon Walker and children, Brandon Jr. and Noah. Tara Taylor and children, Khalia, Kiara and Kyree.
Visitation, for the family only, will be held from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Number One Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will take place at Cox Cemetery, Jerome. Services entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home, 210 North Trotter Street, Dermott.
